Brooklyn based folk-pop duo Almost Sex have just released their debut single Knockoff about the early stages of their relationship. Multi-instrumentalist Nick Louis and architect and singer HW LaSota carefully constructed the track by trading files via the internet during the lockdown. It starts out as a simple song, with a few stray notes of the Police's Every Breath You Take to get the ball rolling, but it slowly unfolds as an intricate puzzle of rhythms and vocal lines, like they were checking each other out to find the best way to make the next move.
