Chicago band Kid Bear are playing on two tables simultaneously on EP2. Originally a solo project for singer and guitarist Matt Neuroth: the project grew into the rock format of two guitars, bass and drums, without forgetting the band leader's first love Americana.
The latter genre doesn't come out as well as the rock songs - Mary Mary and Here to Stay sound rather generic and the vocals are a bit hesitant, when compared to growling rumble of Rise and the joyous but sad All the News (think ZZ Top channeling John Fogerty's guitar tone).
