You Should Get To Know Us: Faceland + "Victory Song" video premiere

Dutch psych-garage rockers You Should Get To Know Us must have been listening to a lot of "beat groups" that were all the rage in The Netherlands in the late Sixties. Their debut EP Faceland is a rambling collection of dance-able lo-fi tunes, with plenty of "aha-aha's", short and sweet guitar solos and wayward key changes. And of course a cheerful harp drops in every now and then to join the party. They recorded in only four days in York, with Sam Forrest (Sewage Farm singer and guitarist) acting as producer.

Faceland caters to fans of raw guitars, fuzzy bass and basic but highly effective drums. All killer, no filler, but when forced to pick the stand-out tracks consider Reality (with feedback trying to mess up the melody) and Big Star-inspired powerpop Victory Song with the added bonus of a bluesy harp solo of the early Stones variety.

Faceland is released thru Het Liedjescollectief (Netherlands) and Desert Mine Music (UK).

Tracks:
  1. Green Paper
  2. Not Going To The Party
  3. Reality
  4. Blackhole
  5. Victory Song
