The Academic: Tales From The Back Seat

Irish rock quartet The Academic sing about perennial favourites theme of young men: mishaps (mainly about girls), arguments (with girls), friendships (in spite of girls) and being under age preventing them for getting their hands on beverages containing alcohol.

Their debut album Tales From The Back Seat has the pop-punk innocence of adolescents. The hooks and the riffs are all in place - and damn catchy at that - but the lyrics could do with a bit more life experience. For now they have to settle to be a tight band that can be popular with the teens. Time will tell if they can move beyond that demographic.

The Academic:
Craig Fitzgerald: vocals
Dean Gavin: drums
Matt Murtagh: guitar
Stephen Murtagh: bass
