Geroge Michael is dead at 53. As the singing half of pop band Wham! he made a the worst Christmas song ever, but as a solo artist he reinvented himself as an advocate for gay rights, releasing a string of rather good solo records and he became the sole singer who could almost fill Freddy Mercury's shoes when he delivered a stunning rendition of Queen's Somebody To Love at Wembley on April 20, 1992.
