ZAPPATiKA drummer Maarten van Zeijl has been forced to step down from his riser, citing health issues. Zap McInnes on the band's Facebook:
Dear Friends,Followers & Freakz,
It is with a heavy heart that we must report that our dear brother; founding member & drummer, Maarten van Zeijl, a.k.a Batta-Tutti, will, as of today, no longer be performing as a member of "the ZAPPATiKA Collective". The reasons for this sad news are chiefly brought about by some recent health issues and it is there that he needs have his focus. Although, we will miss him VERY,VERY much, we (the band+guest alumni) are all behind him & understand this necessary decision. We, of course, hope that he will move quickly toward healthier & happier times........
