Joan Osborne became a household name with the monster hit One of Us, a track from her 1995 album Relish. She has been releasing solid records ever since and her forthcoming seventh studio album Little Wild One reunires her with the team (producers/writers Rob Hyman, Eric Bazilian and Rick Chertoff) that made Relish a million seller.
Her voice has deepened over the years and there is a bit more country-styled vocalizing, bordering on gospel on this fresh batch of songs. If you strain your ears, you will find strands of Motown in Rodeo and Can't Say No, but for those who need another shot of one Of Us the album kicks off with Hallelujah In The City (an ode to NYC) and Sweeter Than The Rest.
Little Wild One is released on Womanly Hips Records. Release date: September 9th.
