The Gold Needles: Mood Elevator

English power pop band The Gold Needles are the kind who can make their guitars both soar and jangle, creating a hybrid of Cheap Trick, the Smiths and hints of Roxy Music and REM. Their new album Mood Elevator is basically about the mixed emotions that are part of everyday life. Things might get better one moment, before shit hits the fan without warning. Rolling with the punches is the best way to deal with the highs and lows, before taking stock and think about the next move. Who knows, it might turn out that everything Turns To Gold in the end.

The vocal harmonies are spot on. That's where the mileage of the band members comes in - a winning combination of skills and experience. The Gold Needles love a good melody and they know how to bring it home safely.

The Gold Needles:
Simon Dowson: lead & harmony vocals, guitar
Dave Burbage: lead & rhythm guitars
Mark English: keyboards, bass (track 10), backing vocals
Carl Slaughter: bass, harmony vocals
Will Jones: drums
