Leicester based jangle pop act Shopfires upped the ante on the new single We Could Fall Apart, adding orchestral elements to make the hurt of the lyrics a bit more bearable. Considering this was recorded on a shoestring budget the sound (and separation) is a few levels above the bedroom pop that is de rigueur in this niche.
B-side Always In The Wrong Place is a dreamy instrumental that would have been great for a French nouvelle vague movie, with only the rather dry rhythm sound acting as a telltale sign that it was very much recorded in 2025.
